Hiking Outreach

A lot of transforming of a community, comes down to transforming young people. One needs to take them out of their community, away from their homes, the violence, the alcohol and bad habits, to a place where life is simpler. Here in the middle of the mountains memories can be created through adventuring together, exploring caves, or swimming across fresh mountain pools.

Its these memories that last deep in lives, as the complexity of life happens around them, when the job opportunity and dream that they were relying on to give them life fails, they can still remember that one moment from years ago when they were happy. When they were high up in the mountains, climbing a peak, and eating a simple sandwich and tasting the fresh mountain water.

Its here in the mountains that we spend hours speaking about the Lord. There is no distraction. In many areas we go there is no cell phone reception, no connection with home. Its just beauty and the Lord.

So hiking does all this, it creates memories, gives quiet places where the Lord can be found. How many times do we hear some 20-something tell us..."Remember Tata G when we went to this mountain and we did this..." And then they describe perfectly the whole event, hike, sleep and adventure. We cant remember any of it...

For a 2 night camp, it costs us R400 per person (Wilderness hiking - Free Area) or R500 per person (Bungalow/Hut/Wilderness)

Our goal in 2026 is to provide this opportunity for 50 individuals. (over a variety of activities and camps)

We are looking for sponsorship of approximately R25 000 for this area.
